Yesterday I scored three great yarns on my stash-enhancing expedition with Lisa and Heather. We had an excellent time at the Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Fair and it was very well-organized, especially for a first-year event. There was a wide variety of vendors of yarn (including handspun/handdyed), roving, spinning wheels, weaving machines, and jewelry. I would definitely go back next year.
So now for the acquisitions:
First, some more Brooks Farm Riata in a really pretty blue. I needed more solid color yarns and I had absolutely nothing in this blue shade. I love it!
Next, Brooks Farm's new yarn - Solana. It is a superwash worsted weight wool and I fell in love with this teal color.
Finally - a great deal I got on Pima Silk. I'm thinking of using this for the Cable-Down Raglan. I got it for 50% off, or about $3.50 a skein. What a deal!
I finished the bindoff on the Lace & Bobble Jacket and am seaming it in between working on the yellow lace & cable sweater. I thought the seaming might give my hands a break in between knitting sessions. I also am on page 300 on the new Harry Potter book, as I was reading that last night instead of knitting (SHOCKER!)

Those yarns are gorgeous! I particularly love both of the blues! I think the pima silk will be great for the cable down. I bought Berroco pure merino, but i'm wondering if it won't be too hot! I bought some Classic Elite Patina which is the same fiber content and it feels glorious! That will make a year round sweater!

Wow....lots of pretty yarn! The pima silk is a great idea for cable down. I might have to consider that also. I wish we had more fiber festivals here! I have never been to one!

You are one busy lady with knitting, sewing, taking a class, full time work and blogging. I won't try and keep up with you, instead live vicariously through you and dream about the possibilities with that lovely blue yarn...

Beautiful yarn and beautiful colors. I'm pleased that Brooks Farm will have a plain wool option. I'm still waffling on what to do with the 100% mohair, and plain wool is easier to adapt to sweater patterns. Thanks for the heads up--I'll have to put a little more money aside for my fall trips to fiber fairs.

Wow, you so scored! I love fiber festivals. I'm trying to rationalize going to Stitches over Rhinebeck-Stitches is 5 hours away; Rhinebeck is 1.5 hours away. Decisions, decisions!

Hmmmmmmmm.......
Distracted by reading new Harry Potter.
Probably wouldn't even notice if newly purchased skeins were missing from stash.
Hmmmmm.........
