I got my prize for winning Fugly Friday over on Sarah's blog for Waterlily and Lambada.
Sarah sent me a nice note on some cute Hello Kitty stationery and some awesome purple yarn, along with some Fun Fur as part of the "Fugly Friday" joke! The purple yarn is "Mar-Len" and I had never seen it before - it reminds me of a lighter version of Rowan's Cotton Tape and I'll have to come up with a great project for it. Maybe a small tank top? I'll have to check the yardage. Sarah wanted me to let her know what I end up choosing for this yarn, and I will definitely let her (and y'all - pretending I'm from the South today - know.) Thanks again, Sarah - and as you suggest, I hope to never win this prize again!

I was like EWW! When I first saw the yarn and then got the joke! Haha!
Love the purple!! :o)

Hey! You won some Muppet fur! See, Waterlily wasn't a total loss after all!

yep that's definitely one award you would want to win twice. That color is nice though.

Wow. Just say no to fun fur. It's almost always good to win.

You can't imagine the number of things I've knit out of the Fun Fur (the Gay Pride Weasel Whip being the crowning glory). My odd duck father even asked for a scarf out of it in a staid colour... it's ridiculously warm, for those of you scoring at home.

My computer was protesting yesterday so I couldn't see any of your pics! But today- all I can say is AMAZING (about jacket)!

COngrats on winning yarn! I think that this colour would suit you very well (I meant purple :D)! Can't wait to see what tank you knit out of it :D

Yay! Glad you like it.
BTW, MarLen is a Czech brand. I picked it up in Prague about a year ago, but I've never seen it anywhere else. There's definitely enough yardage for a small tank, though. I made a ballet T out of two skeins, and that's usually around 400 yards.

I am an American who lives in the Czech Republic and you have stumbled upon the one and only Czech made brand of yarn. I've begun working with it and like it so far. It's hard to find even here in czech - so it is a miracle it worked it's way into your hands in the states. You have a yarn rarity on your hands. Enjoy!
