You know that Vogue Fabrics sale I was talking about yesterday? The one that starts Sunday? Well, I decided that going to that sale and stashing more fabric would be a hindrance to me in fully exploring what's already in my closet, as well as taking time away from actually working on projects, so I am going to resist. Can you believe it?
And in other news, I decided on the wine color for the CPH - but I also bought Bonne Marie's Cassidy pattern after seeing Lara's version. Not sure which one I will make now! I also was looking at two books from my library last night - Inspired Cable Knits and Cables Untangled - and added some items to my queue from those. I think my knitting style has been evolving. I still want to focus very much on fit and minimization of seams, but I truly want to create a "knitting work of art" now, which really wasn't my goal before. I think Cable Down Raglan was the turning point because I really love its sculptural look AND perfect fit. So I think cables (and lace, though I haven't done anything with a lace pattern in a while) are my main interest right now. Speaking of cables, I worked on Baby Cables and Big Ones Too last night and am ready to separate off the sleeves. Yay!
GO ROBIN GO! I fell off the fabric wagon BUT I did say that vacation fabric didn't count lol. I'm glad I did lol

Good for you. I am SO in love with cables right now. I'm having the darndest time putting down my Wisteria. I'm really liking the Baby Cables and Big Ones Too. I think that may be next for me. That's IF something else doesn't get my attention.

I think textures really add a nice "something" to pieces. The Baby Cables and Big Ones looks amazing. I'll probably have to buy that pattern and add it to the queue.
BTW - I went back to the Bernina store yesterday to pick up the gathering attachment. (They were closed, so I'll go again today). She originally showed it to me, but thought I'd like the other one better. No point in splitting hairs, when you can have both! Thanks for the input.

I do like the Cassidy sweater! I am ready to separate on my 28Thirty! I think I'm going for a full length cardi. Oh, and I picked up stitches around the neck for my wedding shrug. I'm so excited!
Um, congrats on resisting! I know it isn't easy :-)

be strong! And root around in your stash. you'll probably find stuff you forgot about. Kinda like shopping for free!

I almost bought that recently. But I've been working so much on the computer - about 60 hours/week - that I haven't been knitting.
Ugh. Maybe Christmas - this sucks.
But hey, let me know how you like Cassidy.

Did you buy Cassidy online? Was I the only schmuck that had trouble buying it online? :-)
I know what you mean about knitting from the stash. I've been trying...but there are some yarns out there that just call your name!
I was looking at my queue the other day and noticed all the cables I have waiting for me. I've not made it, yet, but have you thought about Rogue? I've heard that's a real knitted work of art.

I love cables too. I think it keeps the interesting and fun. There are so many great patterns out there it is sooo hard to decide!

There is a temptation not to miss a fabric sale, but there are indeed always others.
I've been so captivated by cables and lace that I find it hard to break away and do other kinds of knitting. I just love the way garments with cables and lace (and cables and lace together) look.
