I finally washed and blocked Cerisara and am wearing it to work today. I really like it as a great layering piece. I thought about wearing it over a knit print dress, but I didn't want the lace pattern to compete with the print so I layered it over a plain black boatneck tee and black skirt, then vamped it up with my new Kenneth Cole Reaction gladiators.
Front/Overall:
Closer-up:
Side - my head is cut off a bit as I needed to adjust the tripod but was trying to run out of the house:
Back - I could have stood to have more waist shaping but I was going with the looser layered look:

shoes:
Pattern: Cerisara by Bonne Marie Burns (ChicKnits) link is http://chicknits.com/catalog/cerisara.html - my link button isn't working in this new version of Typepad
Size: 34
Mods: only shortened sleeve length
Yarn: Vickie Howell "Craft" cotton/bamboo yarn in "Todd" colorway (turquoise)
I would not use the Vickie Howell "Craft" yarn again, though I do like its drapey, soft texture, especially when washed. The problems I have with it are 1.) it has a lot of knots and uneven slubs in it that have to be cut out - creating a disproportionate number of ends that have to be woven in and 2.) it knots up a lot while knitting it, which gets better if you can pull from the center of the ball instead of the outside, but it's almost impossible to find the end on the inside of the ball.
I also used a small "barbell" closure to close up the gap a bit in the front. I had gotten this closure with an Eileen Fisher cardigan I purchased a while ago and I thought it would work well for this.

What a great job! I love the lace on the top and it fits so well. Beautiful!

Beautiful. I love this as a layering piece. Where did you find the barbell tie? And good notes about the yarn. I hate when you have to cut out parts to get a smooth clean look to the fabric. HATE IT!!!

This is a nice piece... I just ordered the pattern today and am wondering if I should attempt it! Great work... as usual!

Perfect for this time of year! A great transition color and will look great with white in the summer time. I also love your shoes!

Your knitting skills amaze me, I am so impressed! And those shoes? To die for!

That turned out very nicely, and it looks good over your solid dress (I agree that the lace would get lost over a print--plus it would hide the nice lines of the sweater).

very nice!

I do like the look of the jade against the black. It really looks smart. Thanks for the warning about the yarn. I does sound rather a nuisance having so many slubs, etc.
That tie is rather an interesting way to have a closure.

Such a pretty color. And how can you resist the gorgeous shoes as an accessory? Love it!

Lovely sweater, but how on earth you walk in those shoes is beyond me. I am such a fuddy duddy.

I do like the shoes. I am slightly envious of people who can wear them. (and who have somewhere to wear them!)
