Today was Day 2 of Week 3 with the running/walking program and I ran three 5 minute segments. This week’s program starts and ends with 5 minutes of walking and starts with 4 minute segments of running (in the middle 20 minutes) and ends with 6 minute segments of running. So far, so good. The 5 minute segments weren’t that difficult – last week my heart rate had gotten up to 150 when I started the 4 minute segments, but now after only three workouts of 4 minute-or-more running segments, my heart rate is back in the 130s.
Today I’m going to the running store with my friend Dawn from work and will be buying actual running shoes after running on the treadmill to have them analyze what kind of shoes I need. I had scheduled that previously but we didn’t end up going as the store’s treadmill was down. I’ll be calling today before we go to make sure it’s working now.
Last night I covered buttons for Jim’s vest – I really liked it! They came out really great. A few of them didn’t work on the first try as the fabric was fraying, but the ones that worked (which was all of them, ultimately, after do-overs) worked really well. Jim was impressed when I showed the buttons to him. The Dritz button covering kit worked great – quick and easy. I want to cover buttons for all my projects now!
Keep up the good work on the running! Let me know how the store is. Love the new Avatar!
